Content & Translation Manager - m/f

a new role for all the off- and online commercial content in English and to join the Marketing team at the European headquarters near Schiphol, The Netherlands.

We are an European market leader in sourcing, development, marketing and distribution of consumer products in the business to business market. We have an assortment of around 3500 articles varying from writing instruments, electronics, bags, textiles and many more. The organization has sales offices throughout Europe and several buying offices in China, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Thailand.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Content & Translations manager

Reports to: Director Marketing & Product Management

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a qualified Content & Translations manager to join our team. You will be responsible for creating, improving and maintaining content to achieve our business goals. Your duties will also include sharing and creating content to raise brand awareness about products, brands and services.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced professional (native English speaker) with demonstrable creative writing skills. As a Content manager, you should perform well under deadlines and be detail-oriented. If you are also an expert in content optimization and brand consistency, we would like to meet you.
Ultimately, you should be able to oversee all marketing content initiatives to ensure customer engagement, brand consistency and a positive customer experience. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets
  • Collaborate with offline and online marketing and product development teams to plan and develop website and print content
  • Create engaging content and product descriptions
  • Edit, proofread and improve category managers content
  • Liaise with other content writers to ensure brand consistency
  • Coordinate the translation process
  • Optimize content according to SEO
  • Manage content distribution to online and offline channels
  • Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright and data protection)
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS

Proven work experience as a Content manager. BSc degree in Journalism, Marketing or relevant field.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Self-starter with an pro-active personality and infectious positive mental attitude − Organized and highly detail oriented − Extensive work experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new software programs quickly and thoroughly − Hands on experience with MS Office, Fast learning skills for new content management systems. Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing. Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics. Excellent writing skills in English. Attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Stays calm while working under pressure or tight deadlines − Must take initiative to make improvements, anticipate potential issues and quickly develop solid alternative solutions − Must be enthusiastic, passionate, team oriented and collaborative in nature.
